MENA FCCG Deputy Chair attended the Global Coalition for Fighting Financial Crime (GCFFC) Annual Meeting in Leon, France
On October 23, 2023, MENA FCCG Deputy Chair Mr. Michael Matossian, Arab Bank Chief Compliance Officer and Mr. Anwar Sayah, representing UAB, attended the GCFFC first ever in-person meeting, held at the General Secretariat headquarters of INTERPOL. The meeting brought together leading experts on fighting financial crime from across the world, along with key representatives from INTERPOL. The meeting was opened by the Chair of the GCFFC, Mr. John Cusack, the Secretary General of INTERPOL, Mr. Jurgen Stock, and the Executive Director of INTERPOL’s Partnerships and Planning division, Mr. Darrin Jones. The meeting brought together key stakeholders and leaders of the coalition to discuss current work and future priorities of the Coalition. There were updates from the Chairs of the various regional chapters and working groups, and a final workshop session focused on creating a strong road map for the upcoming years.
MENA FCCG is a Member of the GCFFC as both share the overarching objective of enhancing the fight against financial crime including via public private sector dialogue and collaboration. In addition, Mr. Matossian holds the Vice Chair position of the GCFFC – MENA Chapter.
