FinCEN Deputy Director joins MENA FCCG Members Meeting
On Tuesday 30th March 2021, the newly appointed Deputy Director of FinCEN, Ms. AnnaLou Tirol, joined the MENA Financial Crime Compliance Group Members for a presentation and discussion. The conversation was part of MENA FCCG’s continued efforts to engage with regulatory bodies around the world, to enhance the efforts of the MENA region in fighting financial crime.
In a wide-ranging discussion, topics covered included FinCEN’s strategic priorities, the outlook for FinCEN’s engagement with the MENA region under the new US administration and the role of Public and Private Sector Partnerships. FinCEN also provided an overview of the new US Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020 (AMLA) and provided the opportunity for MENA FCCG Members to discuss and share regional feedback.
