MENA FCCG Participates in UAB Forum “Combatting Financial Crimes: Compliance with Evolving Global AML/CFT Standards

Mr. Wissam Fattouh, MENA FCCG Chair and Secretary General of the Union of Arab Banks, Mr. Mohammad Dabbour, Director of Group Regulatory Compliance, Arab Bank, and Mr. Antoine Hobeiche, Advisor to MENA FCCG and Union of Arab Banks participated in the event which took place on 29 and 30 January, 2019 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Amman, Jordan. During the event, MENA FCCG Chair provided an update on MENA FCCG including key actions taken to deliver on its mission to engage with multi-stakeholders in an effort to better fight against financial crime.

The two-days forum was organized by the Union of Arab Banks, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Jordan, the Anti Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing Unit, and the Association of Banks in Jordan. The Forum covered a number of topics, including the global fight against financial crime in 2019 and AML/CTF risks associated with crypto-assets. Both, Mr. Dabbour and  Mr. Hobeiche participated as speakers in a session titled “Evolving Technologies and their Impact on Financial Crime Compliance”. The event brought together more than 100 attendees from various backgrounds and from various MENA countries.
