MENA FCCG participates as speaker in OECD Seminar “Public and Private Sectors’ Alliances in the Fight against Corruption in MENA and GCC Countries”

The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), in its capacity as MENA FCCG member, participated as a speaker and moderator in the seminar which took place from January 7-10, 2019 in the city of Kuwait, Kuwait. NBK delivered a presentation on implementing an effective Anti-Bribery and Corruption framework including customer and supplier due diligence policies and procedures. The seminar was conducted by both OECD and the IMF offering case studies based on the experiences of the OECD and MENA countries. Among other things, the seminar discussed the potential of alliances between the public and private sectors to fight corruption, FIU’s perspective on countering corruption, and best practice for banks. Attendees included Government officials in line ministries and public entities in charge of anti-corruption policies and initiatives.
