MENA FCCG holds steering committee meeting

 

The MENA Financial Crime Compliance Group (MENA FCCG) held a Steering Committee group meeting on August 18th, 2017 at the Hilton Habtoor Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon. Continuing to act as a think tank for financial crime, the purpose of the meeting was to agree on the roadmap for the next 12 – 18 months. Topics discussed included opportunities to promote the group further including through a digital presence as well as possible actions for providing support in anticipation of upcoming MENAFATF Mutual Evaluations across the region.

The meeting followed the Financial Forum on Challenges of Coping with the Requirements of CRS hosted by the Union of Arab Banks. As part of the opening, Mr. Wissam Fattouh, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Banks and MENA FCCG Chair discussed developments with the MENA FCCG and introduced Mr. Michael Matossian as Group vice Chair.  Mr. Matossian continued by providing a brief on MENA FCCG objectives and milestones and deliverables to date as it provides a platform to engage with multi-stakeholders to find solutions to promote best AML/CTF practices in an increasingly complex environment, urging all that “working together we can make a collective impact”.
